Communicate Effectively

“Good communication is the bridge between confusion and clarity”

- Nat Turner

Communication is one of the most important aspects of our social lives. Although its most obvious form is verbal, it can take the form of non-verbal communication such as body language as well. In order to have effective communication with others, it must be respectful and non-aggressive. If you have made a mistake, it is better to own up to it and admit your mistakes rather than be defensive, as others may be more likely to forgive you. When giving criticism, it is good practice to first praise the person and then offer constructive criticism as it makes people more receptive. Ending with praise is also helpful in these situations. Furthermore, when convincing others to do something different, giving helpful suggestions and asking questions may convince people to instead of forceful commands.
